Why 100% Cotton Spot Cord?
From Will Rogers to Montie Montana the 100% all cotton spot cord has always been the favorite of trick ropers.
In the 1950s synthetic fiber took over and they stopped making the 100% cotton spot cord, putting a nylon core down the center of the rope. That made it better for rigging your sail boat but terrible for trick roping.
The cord you find in your local hardware store looks OK but won't work or last like the 100% cotton. After a day or two it gets loose and doesn't have the density or weight needed to spin a good loop.
